Hurley is 2012 Recipient of Servicemaster Clean Extra Mile Award at Dover

Dover International Speedway employees and volunteers were cheering for their fellow teammate Jim Hurley this past weekend.

ServiceMaster Clean is in its fourth season as the official sponsor of caution periods at 21 International Speedway Corp.

Each award winner's name is engraved on a plaque that is displayed at the track where the individual works or volunteers.

Hurley has been part of the Monster Mile team since the facility opened in 1969, and has only missed three events, due to illness, throughout his 43 years with the track.

In 2005, Hurley became the logistics coordinator for the Dover International Speedway Emergency Services team and maintains that position today.

Since its inception in 2010, the ServiceMaster Clean ExtraMile Award has recognized 29 track team members across the country. Hurley and his team, so I am sure when we say thank you for your hard work and congratulations, every person out there attending or watching the race this weekend at Dover, reciprocates that exact sentiment. "Just reading about his work ethic and loyalty, as well as how he has literally worked his way up through the ranks at the speedway, exhibits some of the key qualities ServiceMaster Clean hopes to spotlight each time we team up with one of our partner tracks.

Hurley was part of the first rescue company at the track, as well.

Today, as the logistics coordinator, Hurley oversees a staff of 12 year-round employees to maintain the entire race track. and Dover International Speedway tracks.
