Authorities warn offer of "free" house cleaning may be effort to clean you out

A free house cleaning sounds like a great deal, but Hall County Sheriff's Deputies suspect the people behind this deal were looking to clean someone out.

The suspects approached another family who also turned them away.

"She was very persistent," said Sgt. Deputies have tried but cannot make out a tag number.

"They offered free house cleaning, but the minute he refused to let them in the home she asked for her flyer back along with the "free" cleaning supplies," said Graham.

Graham's father was approached by a woman who entered the Compass Point subdivision traveling in the white van with two men.

"There were no markings on the van and they didn't have any business license," said Scott Graham.

Graham says the woman was provocatively dressed and appeared intoxicated.

"If it's a legitimate business person they're not going to have any problem leaving their sales flier, and they're certainly not going to come to a house intoxicated," said Wilbanks.

"We've have problems with some scams coming out of the South Carolina area in the past," said Wilbanks. They're warning that nothing is free.

Graham's father tried to follow the van but it left the neighborhood at a high rate of speed. "She tried her best to work her way into the house. " .
