Young people to clean up town this week
DOZENS of young people will take part in a community clean-up of Wellingborough this week. The project is organised by Infuse Youth Cafe, which is part of the Wellingborough Youth Project. The 30 young people will be litter-picking, washing street furniture, scrubbing graffiti and cleaning up streams. In the past they have picked up sofas, bikes and trolleys. The youth project is alays looking to obtain more dedicated volunteers and funders. They'll also be treated to a trip to Laser Maze in the town. The cafe provides young people with a place to relax and interact with each other. At the end of the week the young people will be supplied with certificates signed by the mayor. It is supported by Wellingborough Council, Northamptonshire Voluntary Youth Action, Wellingborough Youth Council, the Scouts and the Hope Project. It is a neutral environment where young people can feel safe. |
