| City aims for cleaner park, river A long standing Easter tradition at Brackenridge Park appears to be coming to an end. "There seems to be more accountability," Cerna said as he surveyed the park Sunday afternoon. Cerna said his family has always taken pride in leaving their campsite clean. If the trend of more people cleaning up after themselves continues and the estimates of the San Antonio River Authority are correct, by this time next year the park grounds won't look like the aftermath of a Fiesta parade due to the Easter weekend campers, and the river might be clean enough to swim in. The usual sights — overflowing trash cans and litter swirling in the afternoon breeze — were gone. |
