Maids barred from cleaning window exteriors unless supervised: MOM Employers will not be permitted to let their maid clean the outside of windows - unless strict safety conditions are in place. Failure to do so may result in them being brought to court, and upon conviction be fined up to $5,000 and jailed up to six months. The change can come into immediate effect. In announcing the change, the Manpower Ministry noted that a significant proportion of fatalities involving maids falling from heights came about because they were cleaning the window exteriors.
