Cleaning Up After The Storms

Cleaning Up After The Storms

Thursday's storms left behind quite a mess.

Others weren't so lucky. They were screaming because everything was happening.

Residents out here say city crews helped them get a head start on cleaning by removing debris from the roads.

Enrique Garcia told us, "It was horrible.

People who live here described the scene as one from a war-zone. I put them in the center hall and we stayed there until the storm was over.

Another resident says a large tree fell on top of his home.

He says his grandkids were inside at the time and very frightened.

But, some residents say they're only dealing with minor damage.

Trees uprooted, fences blew down and shingles were torn off.

Brian Sykora said, "There are some fences torn down.

Enrique Garcia said, "I was like wow I haven't seen nothing like this since Celia, when it hit in 1970.

Mary Jane Cruz said, "We looked outside because we heard an ugly noise.

We went to a neighborhood off of I-37 and Violet to see what they are doing to get things "back to normal.

But today, the skies cleared and nearly everyone was outside doing something in this neighborhood.

But there's still much more work to be done.
